KILL JACKIE, the new suspense and revenge thriller starring Catherine Zeta-Jones, will premiere at Euskalduna Bilbao on 29 September. The presentation will be attended by the Oscar, BAFTA and Tony Award-winning actress, alongside other members of the cast including Óscar Jaenada, Sidse Babett Knudsen, Hattie Hook, Darci Shaw, Christine Adams and Julian Rhind-Tutt. The event will bring to Euskalduna a production with particularly strong ties to our region, as the series was filmed last year in Bilbao and at various locations across Bizkaia, as well as in London and Swansea.
The eight-episode series is based on the acclaimed novel The Price You Pay by Sunday Times bestselling author Nick Harkaway, writing under the pseudonym Aidan Truhen. It is co-produced by Fremantle and Steel Springs Pictures, with Deabru Kalea Filmeak overseeing production in Bizkaia and the United Kingdom. KILL JACKIE follows Jackie Price (Zeta-Jones), who has spent twenty years trying to remain anonymous after escaping a dangerous past as an international drug dealer. She is forced to rediscover her old instincts when “The Seven Demons”, a group comprising some of the world’s most feared assassins, are hired to kill her. Following its presentation at Euskalduna Bilbao, the series will premiere on HBO Max on 2 October in Spain and other European markets.
