Euskalduna Bilbao has successfully concluded the AIPC Annual Conference 2026, the leading international event for the convention centre industry. Over four days, Bilbao welcomed more than 170 senior executives and venue leaders from some of the world's leading convention centres, representing 35 countries. With record attendance, the conference positioned Bilbao at the heart of the global conversation on the future of the meetings industry, addressing key topics such as innovation, artificial intelligence, sustainability, hospitality and the impact of events on communities.
Feedback from the international delegates has been overwhelmingly positive, not only regarding Euskalduna Bilbao but also the city and the wider region. "The outcome could not have been more positive. Over the past few days, we have had the opportunity to showcase not only a world-class convention centre, but also a city and a region that have successfully reinvented themselves while remaining true to their identity. The feedback we have received from participants has been exceptional and confirms that Bilbao and Bizkaia have everything needed to remain a leading destination for major international congresses," said Iñigo Iturrate, Director General of Euskalduna Bilbao.
For Euskalduna Bilbao, hosting this conference also carried special significance. More than twenty years after AIPC honoured the venue with the World's Best Congress Centre Award, the association once again placed its trust in Euskalduna by selecting it to host its flagship annual conference. This milestone further reinforces the venue's international standing and highlights the ability of Bilbao and Bizkaia to host world-class professional events.
