Dear colleagues and friends,

It is our great pleasure to invite you to participate in the XXIX Congress of the Spanish Society of Infectious Diseases and Clinical Microbiology (SEIMC), which will be held in person in Bilbao, from May 28 to 30, 2026.

The previous congress, held in Malaga in 2025, was a resounding success both in terms of high attendance and the scientific quality of the sessions. This achievement encourages us to approach this new edition with even greater enthusiasm. The SEIMC Scientific Committee is currently working on an ambitious and up-to-date program, which will feature scientific sessions in various formats and cover the most relevant topics in our field, with a special focus on emerging challenges and diagnostic and therapeutic innovations. As always, the program will incorporate proposals from our members and SEIMC study groups. We will also have the collaboration of the industry, which will share its latest advances during our Sponsors’ symposia.

We are convinced that Bilbao will be an excellent host city. Its cultural appeal, renowned hospitality, and the magnificent facilities of the Conference Centre provide the ideal setting for a gathering that will undoubtedly be exceptional, both scientifically and socially.
