Euskalduna Bilbao is once again the venue for the BBVA Foundation Frontiers of Knowledge Awards ceremony and gala concert, marking the twelfth edition of these prestigious international awards. Celebrating excellence in science, technology, the humanities and the arts, the awards honour groundbreaking contributions that expand our understanding of the world and drive progress across society.
The eight award categories reflect the breadth and diversity of knowledge in the 21st century. Alongside fundamental disciplines such as physics, chemistry and mathematics, they recognise advances in emerging fields including information and communication technologies, as well as research that deepens our understanding of the natural environment through the Climate Change and Environmental Sciences category.
The increasingly interdisciplinary nature of modern research is reflected in categories such as Biology and Biomedicine, and Economics, Finance and Management. The awards also highlight the vital role of the Humanities and Social Sciences in addressing today’s most pressing challenges, while recognising outstanding achievements in contemporary classical music and opera through a category dedicated to artistic creation and performance. Bringing together leading figures from across the world, the Frontiers of Knowledge Awards celebrate ideas, discoveries and creative achievements that are shaping the future and enriching our understanding of the human experience.
