The XVI Spanish Congress of Sociology will be held in Bilbao from July 15 to 17, 2026, under the theme “Challenges, evidence, solutions“. Organized by the Spanish Federation of Sociology (FES) in collaboration with the Basque Association of Sociology and Political Science, the UPV/EHU, and the University of Deusto, this event is the leading forum for sociological debate and research in Spain. The congress will utilize various venues in the city center, with Bizkaia Aretoa serving as the main headquarters and the Euskalduna Palace hosting the inaugural lecture.
The program will address critical contemporary issues such as migration crises, population aging, artificial intelligence, sustainability, and social inequality. The objective is to systematize existing knowledge and accumulated evidence to propose effective responses to the complex changes of the modern era. In addition to the presentations, training workshops for young professionals and extensive opportunities for publication in prestigious scientific journals will be offered.
