MICHEL HOUELLEBECQ In conversation with RODRIGO BLANCO CALDERÓN

Considered one of the most influential writers of our time, Houellebecq has always had a great passion for science fiction. From novels such as The Possibility of an Island and Submission to the lyrics of his latest album about the end of humanity, science fiction runs through much of his work, sometimes more explicitly than others. The author has used the genre to imagine future scenarios, always casting a lucid — and often unsettling — eye on the present.

Houellebecq returns to the festival sixteen years after his last appearance to discuss his unique relationship with science fiction. He will be joined by one of the most perceptive readers of his work, writer Rodrigo Blanco Calderón.

In French with simultaneous interpretation.
