The “Alejandro Echevarría – Communicating the Future” Foundation convenes the Gala for the IV Edition of the Alejandro Echevarría Awards, a pivotal assembly aligned with its mandate to combat the proliferation of disinformation. Through these accolades, the institution seeks to underscore and foster exemplary practices in truthful and responsible journalism, establishing a societal benchmark to curb the contemporary rise of misinformation.
In this current edition, the Foundation is once again distinguished by the Honorary Presidency of Her Majesty Queen Letizia. A total of seven awards shall be conferred upon individuals, initiatives, or organizations that embody excellence, as determined by the rigorous criteria of a jury comprising sixteen distinguished professionals from diverse sectors.
The presentation of the awards will be conducted by prominent figures from the corporate and media landscapes, notably Jesús Suárez (Managing Director of Bankoa/Abanca), representatives of the Bilbao City Council, Lucía Angulo (CEO of McCann Worldgroup Spain & McCann Spain), and delegates from Iberdrola, among other distinguished patrons.
The gala will furthermore feature three expert panel discussions. The proceedings will include contributions from high-level specialists, such as Belén Frau (Global Communication Manager at Ingka Group/IKEA), María Moya (Co-founder and CEO of Prodigioso Volcán), Clara Jiménez (CEO and Founder of Maldita), Miguel López Quesada (President of Dircom), Koro Castellano (Vice-President of the Communicating the Future Foundation), David Sainz-Maza (COO of iKor), and the sociologist and researcher Santi Pisonero.
The participants will delineate their perspectives on how disinformation impacts the corporate ecosystem, analyze the role of innovation and technology as catalysts to mitigate its proliferation, and, ultimately, identify the strategic responses required to thwart the advance of such fallacious narratives.
This forum constitutes a singular opportunity to access exclusive documentation, obtain high-level executive statements, and engage with expert discourse on the promotion of information integrity and the multi-dimensional combat against disinformation.
